How to: Attract Players to your Game
Getting players is always the hardest part. Here are some ideas on how to get players to play your game.
Share with the Easel community
- Join the Easel Discord and share your game in the #showcase channel.
- Make your game Discoverable on the Easel website.
Share with gaming communities
- Upload your game to websites like itch.io and newgrounds.com. See Exporting to Other Websites for instructions on how to do this.
- Share your game on subreddits like r/playmygame
For teenagers
- Share your game on subreddits like r/teenagersbutcode, r/coding_for_teens, and r/codingforbeginners.
- Join your local Hack Club or Code Club and share your game with other members.
Post to social media
- Share your game on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and other social media platforms.
- Upload a gameplay video to YouTube and share the link on social media.
Game portals
If you believe your game is good enough, you can also publish your game to game portals such as:
- iogames.space
- addictinggames.com
- crazygames.com
- poki.com
- coolmathgames.com
- armorgames.com
- y8.com
- playgama.com
This process is much more involved and requires you to pass the requirements of those platforms, but it can lead to a gigantic player base if your game gets accepted. At the time of writing, CrazyGames.com and Poki.com report tens of millions of monthly players.
